Well there you go, I learn something every day. That last rotary switches we used had no stop at all and I always assumed that the 11 pos. stop in these was the only stop.

Ah, ok. Yeah, some rotaries have continuous rotation if you don't add a stop. But these Lorlins give you the Full Monty with a built-in stop, so with an additional resistor, you'll be able to get a wee bit more range out of the Sweetest Whispers.

Looking at my FP-III, it appears that you could add a resistor of 6.19K ohms from pin 11 to pin 12, and take the output from pin 12 instead of 11. This would convert to a 21K control with one additional 3dB (louder) step.Anyone game to try it and report?
I'll try to do a 15K alternative another time. This would only be practical for a new (not yet built) control, and will take more effort on my part since the steps are not uniform at the bottom.

I guess I can give it a go if Mike doesn't mind. The SW kit I have is one he sent me the other day for doing some prototype work I'm helping him with. They were intended to be used with a pair of 15k:15k trannies so if it's ok with Mike to bump 'em up to 21k, I'll do it.

You can wire it as 12-position and choose either the 15k or the 21k tap as the "top".

Aye, true. And some clip leads so I can easily switch back and forth to compare. If I've got a 6.19k resistor handy I'll wire it up tonight.
Thanks, Paul!
