ANK AudioKits support forum
AudioNoteKits is proud to announce the new L3 Integrated Amplifier - it can be ordered as in integrated ( L3 EL84i ) or a pure power amplifier ( L3 EL84p). Both units deliver 20W of CLASS AB power using our new Triple C core technology. Reserved for EL84 fans looking for the ultimate amplification product to drive their most loved tube!! Check out the new website for the all the spectacular pics of this new offering! Feedback is welcome!! thankyou Brian Smith
I'd be all over that in a heartbeat if I had the funds. I've wanted to try an EL84 amp for awhile. Lovely looking build of the unit in the photos.
What sonic differences/improvements characterize this model over the basic model? Thanks.
The basic L1 model has a relatively small power supply implementation while the L3 shares basically a similar power supply implementation to that of the L4 integrated. This will translate into better authority, sonic weight and heft as well as improved driving ability with some loudspeakers. The Triple C Cores will add more sonic refinement in the areas of frequency extremes, midband tonality and purity, transparency , soundstage etc..
You can see pics of the new AN(UK)OTO Signature SE at the URL I listed. I believe there is also a P-1 Signature SE, but I am not sure. I far preferred the OTO and P-1 SE to the PP version. (But the P-2 PP, which I believe, you owned, was a wild little animal with lots of grunt).
Sonically, the OTO Signature SE version is a good step up, offering greater bandwidth, tighter bass and lusciously airy highs. The double-C core OPTs on the AN OTO Signature SE are new, but sadly not available as components for sale. One has to buy the amp.
Still, it will be interesting to see how the new kit performs with their new PP OPTs.

I'm not personally familiar with the differences between PP and SE amps having owned only the P2- SE, which I still have in it's original form, so I will not take any sides on the PP vs SE issue. The new OTO SE Signature appears to build on the strengths of the standard OTO SE and take it to a higher level. Ideally I would love to have the opportunity to compare the differences between the OTO SE Signature and the new L3 EL84 Triple C-Core Integrated kit amp. The only chance of that would be perhaps a show setting with both products present for comparison.
