No guns, too big and unweildy. Weller or Hakko solder stations seem to be the most used by inmates. I have a Weller wes51 and love it. Variable and stable temp control, 50w iron, lots of tips for all uses. Cost me about $80. If your new to soldering, regular Kester solder is easiest to use, silver bearing is nice but harder to work with.
