Hello fuba,Yesterday I opened up my Kit1 to upgrade the Jensen caps to AN Coppers. Since I had the unit open, I decided to make a couple updates.
Recently I had ordered some silver wire and decided to use it to conect the driver board to the 300B. This is usually a purple PTFE wire.
Since I did both mods at the same time, I can't tell you which did what. Also it may be good to give the new amp some use before drawing conclusions.
However, the sound minutes later was noticeably clearer, detailed, but also relaxed. It seems like the amp is not even trying. Tonality is a bit cooler. (not sure I like this, but it might change with some use).

Hi Audimex,Thanx for sharing your experience. I suspect it's the AN copper-in-foil caps that made a more significant contribution. I'm still deliberating over which cables to change to silver ones. BTW which silver wires did you use? Which brand? Solid core or multi-stranded? What gauge?
Hello Fuba,The wire I used is from D.H. Labs from their Revelation Series and is a 23 awg solid core 99.99% pure Silver. D.H. Labs also offers a 18 awg but I didn't have any available at the time. I will probably try the 18 awg as soon as I get some more.
My main concern with using silver cable is always the annealing process. This is what D.H. Labs told me about their wire:
"Yes, the silver conductor in our hook up wire and the BL-Ag is dead soft annealed. This is also referred to as "annealed full soft" or "fully annealed". Annealing the metal to its softest state removes internal stresses, improves ductility, and increases electrical conductivity of the metal to its maximum level.
Annealing is actually one of the most important parts of the manufacturing process. There are different methods for annealing wire, and these have different effects on uniformity and surface integrity of the conductor. DH Labs carefully selects the appropriate process, depending on the metal involved (silver, copper, etc.)"

DH Labs, Inc.I purchased the wire from Parts Connexion in Canada.
