Hi kit gurus,Well I decided to take the plunge and yesterday ordered a kit1PQ to be sent all the way to Vietnam. Im a complete novice with kits, have no engineering background and absolutely no idea what the circuit and schematic is all about.
Tomorrow I will buy my first ever iron to start practising soldering on some old computer boards. I've read through the build manual, I reckon if I take my time and go really slow I'll be fine. Of course can always ask for assistance from Brian and on this forum.
For the past two years I've been changing so many gears, specially SS amps and upsampling cd players that it gets so frustrated. I now settle with AN CDT1, ,DAC1.1x, OTO and a pair of Triangle Celius (wife dictatorially decided against AN J speakers for simple reason that they dont look nice in the apartment =)
I hope this kit1 will be it!!! my last upgrade for a while.
Hey - its quite a nice AN and kit community you have here. Im only a beginner in this fascinating hobby and have learned a lot of stuff from all your posts.
Thanks all.
Vi

Yeah but get the AN J or E's somehow -- LOL. Can you not just BEG. That's what good husbands do. remember they cgo hard into the corners out of the way and come in a big pile of finishes. Then you have all AN all the way.

Yes, take your time and try to be patient as you build and just get each part of the build straight in your mind before you start them.I don't know whether you have seen it already but I have a website that may be of use to you during the build because I documented my build of a PQ Signature Kit1 on the web (and more recently a Kit1 Phono Stage Signature).
It can be found by clicking on the link below.
Good luck.
