Over the last two years since I have been working with AudioNote Kits - I have to admit that I have bought several hundred vinyl's -Anytime I have travelled I have bought vinyl's from various stores in London, San Fran , Toronto etc.. I have been to some record collector shows and have purchased audiophile vinyls as well as old favorites etc.... In that time there are but a handful that I listen to quite regularily and I would be interested to know out of your entire vinyl collection what are the one or two records you have that stand above the others - whether it's sound quality , the music , the production , the era - let me know what your favorite vinyls are as I would like to put up a page on the web site with pics or a listing of all the favorite vinyls that the group listens to :
I listen to everything from Olivia , Frank Sinatra, Yes , Rush etc....
There is nothing like finding a new vinyl and playing it on your 300B set for the first time!

There is one record that stands out for me and that is Led Zeppelin II .I don't like the lyrics and the stuff Jmmy Paige jerked around with, but it is the groovyest record I've ever heard.I have listened to it over and over and over again, and I never get tired of it.
Also Weather Reports-"Heavy weather" is a milestone in my collection, and this was the first record I heard with Jaco Pastorius playing, and he is one of my favourite musicians of all time. Both these records I bought on CDs first(Sorry :-) ),but all music sound better on analog in my opinion.
I too love searching through used vinyl looking for treasures!! :-)

- Keith JARRETT - KÖLN CONCERT
- BAROCK by the DROTTNING BAROCK ENSEMBLE edited by PROPRIUS (Händel , Purcell)Regards
Well, i will mention 3 albums. Ofcourse there is many more to listen to. In no particulair order:1. Ella sings Broadway / Verve V6-4059:
Very nice sounding (180 gram) album. It's an original album ( not a re-issue) bought by my dad in 1973. Great music..2. Erik Satie Monotones / HMV Greensleeve:
The lovely Satie piano music, but played by a full orchestra. Very nice recording. (Album was previous owned by PQ)3. Alison Krauss & Union State, So long so wrong / Mobile Fid. lab
Beautifull voice of alison. Very, very good recording from Original Master on 200 grams vinyl. This album let's you hear what a good recordplayer can do.
Hi,
to be fair,I used to hear vinyl records when I was very young, till 23 o 24 years old. So, in those days I heard most of the time rock; hard, progressive, punk etc. (60%) experimental and contemporary (20%) and the remaining 20%, jazz, classics, folk, world, etc.
Now is different because I hear jazz the most , conteporary and classics, but still rock.
If I have to put a very representative records from those days I will choose "In the Court of the Crimson King", debut album by King Crimson, because today when I hear my, close to 30 years old vinyl record, still have the emotive power than when I was a teenager. Well,Black Sabbath was one of the fundamentals, also. And "Sabbath Bloddy Sabbath" are not the best, but is full of remembers for me.
There are lots more, of course. I sold a lot of records on garage sales on the '80's, but preserve 100 of the fundamentals.
Now I have new favorites, but that will be is another story.
Profound life changes years ago left my large LP collection behind. I find myself replacing what I had more than scoping new ground. I had a very good solid state system back then with what was probably a better analogue front end.
But I do hear old favorites for the first time these days with the Audio Note Kit 1 and Altec/Jbl system:
Laura Nyro New York Tendaberry, Verdi Requiem Bernstein NYPO, The Bigg's Bach Book and, go easy on me, Lionel Ritchie I Can't Slow Down (I know it's un-hip but I just got up to put it on), everything Joni Mitchell recorded but especially Blue and Miles Of Aisles.
Directions I hadn't gone before are best represented by Ellington Meets Basie, Basie's Montreux '77 and Alison Krause/Union Station So Long and New Favorite.
There are others but these get the most play and evoke some emotion beyond just making "joyful noises".

Yes, I have acquired nearly 1,000 vinyls since I got my Kit1, both
from Japan and the U.S. Some are still in boxes waiting for
another shelf to be put up. I mostly listen to classical music.
Will go through my collections and pick some of my favorites soon.
