Hands down the best equipment purchase I have ever made in 25 years at this hobby. My wife is in love it and the change it has made to the extent that she plays records whenever she can and I do as well.I have owened higher end Regas and a Linn Sondek (properly set up by the Linn expert in Chicago) and this AN rig blows them away.
FYI get your hands on a pair of Snell Type E II's if you can and you will amazed at what they are capable of.This is a good interim step to take if you cannot afford AN speakers right away.
I am looking forwarding to repacing my cables with AN cables and possibly investing in AN J's and a 300b amp upgrade. Fortunately I can take my time because my system is satisfying.

when you get some time you should write a good review of the table and post it in the General forum. I am working on my OTO review. it would be nice to have a good turntable because evertything I say about the OTO is less helpful with my useless turntable fronting the system. The NAD 533 sounds dark and not very lively -- it's just blah -- nothing really bad but nothing really with a pulse either. So I find my self listening to the CD player which isn't exactly an Audio Note.
Try to find a Systemdek in the meantime then get the TT-2. A Systemdek is in the same "family" so will work well with your system. Wish I had those J's of yours.I wish I could write a good review of the TT-2 however my writing skills would not do it justice.

"I wish I could write a good review of the TT-2 however my writing skills would not do it justice"Hey that doesn't stop me :-)
The systemdeck idea holds some interest to me -- because I could take the Rega 250 arm off the NAD and move it over -- then just get my dealer Soundhounds to put in the wires and get the IQ1 cart - or the better cart with the money I save.
I've even considered just getting the art and putting it on the NAD.
My dealer has a bit of a deal on the TT1/Arm1 and then I can buy the cheaper cartridge and upgrade the stylus bringing it from IQ1 to IQ3 -- It's a systemdek as well I believe but a single motor version.
One thing i like about Audio Note in my auditions is that you seem not to notice that you need an upgrade unless you are foolish enough to listen to the higher model :-( I heard the J/L which was outstanding and then I heard the J/Spe which was so much better that i could not go back to the other one. (I keep putting the E/Sec out of my head LOL I try).
Mike Ranft wrote a review of the TT2 -- damn it I wish some people on this island would upgrade so I could buy their trade-ins. I guess the jump from TT2 to TT3 is not likely to see too many trade ins :-)
You are one of many who have said the AN tables are besting the Linns and for less money -- my dealer carries both lines. I heard a Roksan as well which was quite nice on the K/Spe but I can;t do a side by side. They look sexy but I wionder how much my eyes seduced my ears -- and I only listened to about 6 cuts.
I've had the J's for a year now and they do everything brilliantly. I feel bad for them because if it wasn't for the fact that the E's overshadow them these are class acts with more than enough presence and bass weight for most people and most rooms. It's kind of like Mark Messier being overshadowed by the fact that Gretszky was on the team.
I'm going to Japan next year for a year or two and I'm going to be saving so I'm looking at being patient and maybe get the TT2 then. Hold out on this NAD for a year. (I suck at patience though).
Now has anyone tried the AN cart on a Rega 2 Then I'd know if it would be a decent 1 year stop-gap measure - or would the cart make the table sound like a ringing dinner bell?
I went for the TT-2 for these reasons, used AN tables pretty much don't exist and unfortunately AN does not hold its value well in North America so climbing the ladder is too expensive. The TT-2 really is not much more than the 1 so I went right to the TT-2 with the intent of keeping it. I stumbled on a great deal on the arm II/ IQIII from the only other person I know in North America who owns AN analogue.I feel the TT-2 is the biggest bargain in audio period, certainly the biggest bang for the buck in the AN line I have come across. The TT-2 is not that much more the TT-1 so that a systemdek and then a jump to the tt-2 may make more financial sense sisnce you would not get much when it came time to sell the tt-1. You would get what you paid for a used systemdek back on resale. This of course assumes you cannot find a used tt-1
Another idea would be for you to buy a tt-2 use your rb-250 add the michell techno-weight and a goldring 1000 series cartridge, then get a AN arm and so on.

Hi, do you know exactly the difference between Systemdeck (which model are you talking?) and ANTT1?
Thanks in advance,
Alberto

My understanding is that the AN TT1 is derived from the Systemdek IIX, but improved in probably every conceivable way. It was the Systemdek and the Snell Type E's that led me to Audio Note. I was very happy with the Systemdek, I think it is a good affordable entry point if you jump on the Audio Note path and don't have the necesary funds available yet to purchase AN. Try to find a Systemdek that has a rega arm otherwise I don't think I would bother with it.

Sadly, Systemdek IIX can't be modified to be an ANTT1 as I have seen on the Vynil assylum. AN not only change the glass platter with an acylic one, but also redesigned too much to fit platter, sub platter and the pulley.
