I am adding an inexpensive component stereo system to my kitchen/dining room and I need some recommendations on a USED receiver (NAD etc.). I have a CAL Audio ICON II CD player and PSB MINI speakers. I need value and quality and don't mind looking for an older receiver. I would appreciate any suggestions on used receivers AND speaker wire to run about 15'.
Follow Ups:
These '70's-vintage solid-state receivers have a "tube soul" that rarely makes it into solid state, vintage or modern high-end. A good 730 is warm and very listenable. The 930 has an extraordinary tuner section and has more drive capability. (The PSB Stratus Mini might require that drive capability.) The 730 comes up quite often on eBay, the 930 is a rare unit. Both units are relatively compact in size, so they won't dominate your kitchen.

These sold in the mid '80's as entry high-end s/s units and are dynamite receivers; a top-shelf Class A preamp section, very good tuner, and very nuetral and fast amp section. Built like tanks. They go on eBay for $50-$75. DR25 = 25wpc, DR65 = 65wpc. Make sure the electronic controls all function as they can get erratic from age.
