Not really, Marantz is much better. Where is Parasound made? Marantz is in the same holding company as McIntosh and Denon, involved with Philips. Parasound is owned and made where?

Thanks, John!I think it's so cool that John Curl answers questions and provides advice! Wish I could afford the JC-1. :)

Who is this John Curl? Some people seem to make him out to be like a Dave Hafler, Henry Kloss, Avery Fischer,Saul Marantz,Paul Klipsch, people who pioneered hi fidelity. Who is John Curl? Most of teh people I mentioned are in teh CEA audio hall of fame for being creative genius. Dave Hafler who recently died fioneered affordable hi quality electronics, nobody in his leauge. Who is thie John Curl? some advertising guy or something?

You are both ignorant and arrogant. Why not do a Google search on the name 'John Curl audio'? I am not the 'poet', but I carry some weight in the audio field. For the record, I was in a company with Saul Marantz about 15 years ago. I was vice president of engineering, Saul was president. Before that, I got Mark Levinson on the right track with ground breaking designs such as the JC-1, JC-2 and other products, and I have done fundamental design with a number of other audio companies. Now I don't care what you like or want to listen to. However, to say that Marantz today is better than Parasound, is based on ignorance of how audio products are produced. However, I have great respect for the tube stuff, built in the '50's and early '60's. Too bad Saul had to sell the company.

"I think it's so cool that John Curl answers questions and provides advice! "I hear ya.
In fact, I'm beginning to think that we may be witnessing THE John Curl replying, and not just some 'bot written up by the Black Knight Koders at CTC.
