ARC says send it to them. Worth the round trip of shipping halfway across the country plus their repair fee?
It's got a bad DC offset problem with one channel, which rules out a PS problem. Either one of their potted modules went bad or there's a problem with an output transistor.

With the cost of quality amps these days I'd say if you are happy with the sound and it's doing what you want, then the cost of repair hopefully is much less than buying new.
I had one and really enjoyed it. It had a warm but detailed sound. I blew a channel (shorted a speaker wire, I think) and debated the same thing. Finally had it fixed and used it for a few more years but then sold it - I needed more horsepower. I believed the price covered the repair and a bit more. You could do worse than the D-52B and if you really like it, I would stay with it.
I married the perfect woman. The downside is everything that goes wrong is my fault.
Actually not only is it worth fixing but I would say it's worth having restored. It's starting to age out. However don't let age fool you, it's still a very good piece of audio even by today's standards.
Just my two cents.
