Does anyone have any experience with the Prima Luna Hp ? Was curious of the sound and what kind of speakers you can drive with it? I was also curious about the quality of the phono stage you can add to it.
Follow Ups:
I had one with Harbeth SHL5+ speakers. Hated it. Sold the HP and went back to SS.
The HP was sounding wonderful tonight.THE LARGEST soundstage I have heard in a long while. To be honest,I lost track of center, listening in the dark.It is a great combo with the SF Elipsa SE/RED.
Is it possible that the efficiency of the given speaker system could have anything to do with the perception of the Primaluna?? SFs are 91db.

I have the HP.
The phono is equivalent to something in which retails for-$3-400.If you have an entry level table with a basic MM cart, good enough. Also one less box and cables
I had the phono option in a Prologue 2.I used a Schiit Mani $150(approx) as a back up while my tube phono was being repaired(for the HP)
Not bad, and you can use a LOMC. I would suggest that over the phono option.

I've had a number of pre/power combos, since my last visit to a Prologue 2 w/Shuguang Gen8 AXs and the Mazda Cifte as front-end tubes.
When I grew tired of chasing hifi,I decided to go back to Primaluna to build a music system around. My unit is just beginning to open-up and become more liquid.I suspect that the better parts quality in the HP will deliver a little more this go-round.
It is sounding quite good using the KEFs.
Next up,a pair of Sonus Faber Elipsa. If the thread is still "active",I will report from there.
I do believe that you could spend a lot more and not get this level of quality sound.

That model would be a dream speaker for me. I actually have the SF Venere S on my radar. I'm tapped out-$$ for anything beyond! My HP plays through the Opera Seconda which IMO, is a poor mans SF. Italian build quality, and nice sonics for a fraction of a SF. NOT on par with SF,however.
If you're going to play those through your HP, highly unlikely to NOT sound fabulous.

There seems to be some hifi snobbery when it comes to acknowledging the Chinese made PL gear as audiophile level. Agreed, one can spend more money and not necessarily climb up the audio ladder as far as sonics and quality.
Besids the SF Venere S, this brand looks interesting-link provided.
I'd like to go for the model above this one, but likely out of my budget.
