I just noticed from the Ayre Acoustics web site that they have discontinued the Ayre AX-7e integrated amplifier (and also the QB-9 DSD DAC).
Has anyone at CES 2017 heard anything about a replacement for the Ayre AX-7e integrated amplifier? I know the AX-5 Twenty integrated amplifier is available but I was hoping for an Ayre AX-7e amplifier replacement in a lower price range. Yes, I called Ayre Acoustics and am waiting for a return call. Thanks.
Follow Ups:
Good time to buy a used AX-7e as I consider it to be an outstanding SS integrated amp! We can only hope that the 'replacement' is as good or better, and reasonably priced. The AX-5 Twenty is way too expensive for my audio budget.
Let us know what you learn. Thanks!
how much does the AX-5 Twenty cost?
I believe the AX-5 Twenty is nearly $13K USD MSRP.
how much does the AX-7e cost?
I believe it is $3K USD MSRP, possibly $3.5K by now. It's been around for a long time, originally as the AX-7 then the AX-7e.
