About 20 years ago I bought a ATI amplifier SS built like a tank with fins, anyhow I have never run into anyone who owned one or heard of the amps. Believe it stood for amplifier tecknologies Incorporated I think anyhow going to use it with a pair of Vans blah blah just thought I would see if anyone owned one or listened to one of the amps.from that era ?

And a couple of other victims of the late 90's/early 2000's HT phase. ATI amps are hard to find on the second hand market because like any other great amp, people tend to hold onto them.
My Outlaw 750 is closing in on 20 years old (if it hasn't already gotten there) and isn't going anywhere. If anything, I'm always looking for a second one in case I get the urge to build those Linkwitz speakers...
Used to work and design SAE gear along with James B. ATI is good gear just like SAE was but better.
I've been using an ATI amp for 11yrs. Its the 1807. It was in my HT for a while, but has since moved to my music system. I put a receiver in the HT.
I have never had problem with the amp and I use it a lot. All that power makes listening at low levels very enjoyable.
My ATI is a 1502 model and I forget the adcom preamp not sure but I have access to other preamps if need be.

Yes my wife really loves it I got a adcom preamp to go with it when I bought it now I bought a phono pre amp to go with it for her a Yaquin 23 B if anyone if familar with that phono pre let me know what you think. Now speakers that she will like I have plenty but she wants a certain sound and look but for her the world that is how I go.
Thanks people much appreciated,

ATI is not necessarily just HT, they are only one chassis and in that chassis you can order a 2 channel up to 7, or begin with 2 channel and expand if ever needed. As example in the 3k series the 3002 is the 2-channel version while 3007 is a 7 channel version but they will visually look the same, plus the 3002 can have amp modules added to be 3 to 7 channels.
I haven't heard one 20 years old but I have heard a 3k version, it was one of the most powerful amps I've heard even at lower volume, it just has a lot of what I'd call thrust. I believe the 2k version and up has a 20 amp power cord.
Morris Kessler is the ATI designer, the line now has a 6k signature version.
In my opinion the weak link would be the Adcom preamp unless you have a gfp750. Then again if your ATI is one of the more entry level the Adcom could be a good match. Not that Adcom is bad, it's good for the money and great for what they go used, it's just the 2k and up ATI are really good and can benefit from a more capable preamp.
ATI is the amp of choice for Mr. Linkwitz-
Have always heard positive comments-
have tried to pick up one second hand - but haven't caught one yet...

For the LXMini build Linkwitz originally specified a now discontinued Emotiva 5 channel amplifier.

I believe this Monoprice amplifier is built by ATI for Monoprice. I can't speak to whether or not the guts are the same as one of the ATI branded amplifiers. I suspect if one spends time googling, they wouldfind the answer.

If you're interested, below is a link to a dealer that sells B-stock ATI power amps. Note that all sales are final, which eliminates any possibility that I would consider purchasing anything from them.

It is a nice amp have they changed? The company I mean seems to have really gone the surround sound direction when I did a quick hit on them. Just wondering.?

Multi channel amps are usually marketed to multi-channel solutions - 3.1/5.1, 7.1 and the like-
they make sense from a fewer boxes required perspective - and often are a great way to solve the problem - especially if the speakers are all same mfgr-
Linkwitz uses each amp 'channel' to drive an individual driver in his two or three way speakers with a Crossover before the amps- again - makes sense because then all the amps are the same and fewer boxes...
haven't tried it or heard it - but some day...
