I have not heard them myself, but the following units come close to what you are seeking:

If factory refurbished is OK, here is a possibility:

Thank you for the suggestion.
I was hoping for used gear, trying to get the best for least amount of cash :)

The 2700 THX was my entry into the "low end of the high end". I had two in bridged mono feeding NHT 1.3a's and two NHT SWP passives. Needless to say, it was a powerful set-up. The 2700's were not as "warm sounding" as my subsequent Hafler 9300 THX and Melos SHA-Gold set-up, but the 2700 is a fine sounding power amplifier, nonetheless. I have to assume the 2400 is similar sounding. Again, input level controls preclude the need for a preamplifier. And, they're cheap now.
Will need preamp as she wants a tuner and to use her turntable.

One does not need a preamplifier to "plug in a tuner", but a phono stage is a different animal.
There's a 2700 THX on eBay right now (7:24 EDT, 6-21-2016) for $195.00, with less than 40 minutes left. I'm thinking about buying it. If I don't, I hope someone here does. It's a great deal.
Ooops, 6-12-2016 is the date.
