Looking for some info on the Rega Mira 3 (61W/ch/8ohm) driving Monitor Audio Silver 8 speakers. Speakers rated 90dB/4ohm. Room is 13x16 with 11'cathedral ceiling.
Any other recommendations for sub-$1000 integrated (used).
Thanks for any feedback.

I suggest you look for one. They seem built like tanks and have very good ergonomics as well (for the most part, as I thought it was funny that it came with a solid aluminum remote that worked at too narrow an angle because of the thick aluminum front plate of the amplifier, but that's at the bottom of a draw now). I also have one monitor audio center (never completed the set) and it seems easy to drive so that a Rega Mira should be fine, too.
I had the Silver 8's and loved them. Used RSW 12 subs and Parasound JC-2 and Halo 23s.

I've never found a speaker that the Mira wouldn't drive well in a small room, although I'm sure they exist. The Mira 3 has a very grown-up sound- no "wow" factor, but very competent and musical. I use it in a similar sized room driving 4ohm floorstanders, and have been pleased for years.
Thanks. Just the info I was looking for.
Looking for musicality. Listen to mostly jazz.
Monitor Audio speakers tend to get bright with the wrong electronics. I have the Silver 2's. Using a Denon DL-110 cartridge they can get a little bright. When I use my Grace F9E they are just right. The amp I am using is a Yamaha A-S701 and it can get bright to. So what I am saying is make sure the amp you get is not on the bright side....
