I need to find a good audio repair place in or near Pittsburgh to service my Audio Research tube gear. Sending these components back and forth to MN costs a fortune and shipping damage is always a huge worry. I used to depend on J Rudy and Assoc in Millvale, but they have been out of business for some time.
Any recommendations?

How about HiFi or Audio shops in Pittsburgh?
I have used Amplifier Surgery in the Chicago area. Excellent result. Very nice folks to work with.
They advertise all over Ebay.
You can stop and shop for LPs at Jerry's Records when you go.
Friend of mine had an old Marantz receiver repaired there, and I've bought some odds and ends like drive belts.

OldDude55,
Thank you for this reference. I frequent Jerry's Records often when I am in Pittsburgh and was vaguely aware that there was an associated turntable repair and resale connection. I did not know Galaxie repaired electronics as well. One of my friends here in Meadville bought a turntable they refurbished.
Yours is the second endorsement of Galaxie my inquiries have elicited. I shall contact them tomorrow.
I thought to write to you directly because I recalled that you lived in or near Pittsburgh and have enjoyed your asylum postings before. Thanks for your response!

Not that I know of, at least nobody reliable. I send my stuff away.
Anyone around Cleveland?
