According to the specs for the Apheta MC cartridge (being .5mV output with a recommended load of 100 ohms), I would suggest that switches S1 - S4 should be set to XOXX. (Only S2 ON, others OFF)

Dear Bill
Thank you for your respons. This settings i have been used for a week or so now. It seems i experience a lack of bass in the deeper end..?? Maybe it have something to do with the break in time? My Apheta is the nr. 1 model, but a least the second version, as you can see by the blurred plastic cap, instead of the transparent on, as also Apheta 2 use. I don't know, if the "missing" settings, has something to do with the feeling of lack of bass..?? The EOS can`t give the cartridge the 5uV (500müV) you talking about, and the nearest is the 385, as i mention in my first post/thread. But once again, thanks for your time and help. It has not been easy to find anything about my Riaa..?? The only place i manage to find something useful, was in here :-)
Someone said to me, i need to spend some money on the Rega Aria Phono Pre-Amp (mm/mc), but i already spend enough on gear this last year or so ;-) I much live with what i got, and that is not all that bad my friends.....i promise you :-)
Best,
Thomas
Glad that I could be of some assistance. The alignment and VTA should be perfect with an RP8 and the Apheta cartridge, or else I'd suggest trying to lower the tonearm slightly to improve the bass. In your case it sounds like it may be a break-in issue, which with phono cartridges can take between 50 to 100 hours (that's ~150 to 300 sides!) so give it some time and I would expect the bass to improve. Enjoy the tunes!
Hi Bill
Lower the tonearm i guess i skip for now, and wait for the cartridge to break in. Maybe some cable change could do the job..??
Thx again for help.
Best,
Thomas
There is not an easy way to try different cables on the Rega tonearms (I assume that's the cable you meant) without having the arm rewired. I wouldn't suggest going that route, rather just try to be patient while you keep spinning the vinyl to break-in the cartridge.
Hi again!
I didn't mean cable change, inside the Rega arm.
What i meant was, interconnect`s between EOS and Pre.
But i know i won`t make a World og difference, but worth trying.
I have recently sold out a good interconnect, so i could by the Apheta, and is now "left" with 2 choices of cheaper cables, than my previous Acoustic Zen, Silver Ref. II.
I know have an older Monster Interlink M1000 2.0 and an Eichmann Express 4, serie 2, leftovers, which i at the moment am trying, forth and back..??
I also have an "leftover" Lavardin interconnect, which i`m using at the moment. It is the most expensive of the three, and i use it for my Rega Saturn.
This is very linear and open, and maybe this could do it..??
But i will get back to my choice of cable another time?
By the way, my speakers are Le`Contoure`Stabile 160, floorstander.
I taken a photo of my set-up, so you have a better understanding for room and environment.
I guess the conclusion on this subject, must be to wait for the break in, and in the long run, i maybe have to buy a new and more suitable Phono Stage (Riaa), or what about a step up..?? Is that a possibility..??
If is should go all in, i should probably spend my spares on the Rega Aria MM/MC Riaa, which suit the Apheta perfect, in terms of settings..!!
Once again, it have been an absolut pleasure to have this experience in this forum, for a beginner an newcomer, so thanks again :-)
Best Audiophile greeetings,
Thomas.

Hi again.
By "step up", i meant an Step-Up Transformer.
Best
Thomas
First let me say that you have a very nice system, and the rack looks like it should be very stable! A step up transformer would be used in place of the MC section of your phono stage, so it would be connected between the tonearm cable and phono stage feeding the MM input. I'm not a big fan of step up transformers and generally prefer the sound of a good active stage. The Rega Aria would be a good choice for your Apheta since as you noted they're designed to work together. I would really suggest giving your Apheta some more time to break-in and expect that the bass will improve as the cartridge suspension loosens up a bit. Another suggestion after seeing your system pictures is to try to cover the table in front of your listening position with an absorbent material like a soft quilt or towel when listening (unless you can remove it.) That should significantly improve your imaging by eliminating it as a primary source of reflections between you and the speakers. Don't think that will affect the bass though. Good luck and let us know as you progress, enjoy the tunes!

The Cloth on table i do, when i listen serious to music, so that`s covered.
Now it is time for me to put some records spinning and enjoy my new cartridge, as it`s getting better and better and better and.......etc. etc. etc.
Best
Thomas
