Thanks John, but I'm in UK. We have a supplier offering this amp, plus the matching DA-200 DAC/preamp for £1995 - about $2825 - so much less than your dealer - and this included 20% tax.
However, there's little point in getting excited until I've heard from other users. Perhaps there aren't any!

Follow Ups:
In the UK I would seriously recommend Sugden - fantastic masterclass amps, that were up to the great Accuphase A amps.
I had them and also an earlier Luxman class A amp, good, although a bit soft to the touch..
I now use Berning amplification.
Thanks. In fact I had a Masterclass power amp in my system recently for 2 weeks. It was OK, but not as good a sound as my 845 SET amps. It was of course a bit quieter, but not an overall upgrade.
I then found an almost new Accuphase A-36 at a reasonable price. This is MUCH better tan the Sugden in all ways. It has adjustable gain (full, -3, -6, -12) and balanced input as well as SE. Also Class A, it gets less hot than the Sugden and uses less mains power. Sugden is probably the best UK-built Class A amp, but sadly they are well short of the best in the world.

..that makes sense, I also preferred the E550. However, your initial question does not put the Lux up to that competition, and for the prices you mentioned, I would always go for a sh Sugden, or indeed A'phase.
Me..I would now never trade for my Berning OTL's.
It's on the way from California.
Time will tell.

Excellent John. I hope they send you the matching DA-200 too. I think this has been updated to the DA-250 - identical I believe but with DSD processing. Peter
