I ultimately preferred the NAD CE316BEE over the A9010. The NAD had better bass and a wider, deeper soundstage. It was a bit more transparent, too.
In fact, I preferred the NAD 316 over its bigger brother, the 326.

I do have the 326 in my workshop and I am very happy with it. I also have it's REALLLLLL big brother the 275BEE power amp!!!! It has the balls and power but in the end I do seem to lean towards the actual sound of the smaller unit.I have not compared the 326 to the 316 but one day I would like to do that. The preamp sections in all the integrated amps of that line are exactly the same.
For a budget stereo you can not beat the NAD. Detail and clarity in spades!!!! Even the little ones have a good amount of bass and umph factor. They are not toy stereos.
The Onkyo - again it was a poor listening environment - was lacking detail.

The 316 is also better balanced. The 326 sounded just a tad dark by comparison. The Parks Audio tube phono preamp helps things out.
