Any opinions on Classe DR-9 vs Audio Research D-300?
Thanks in advance

I know this isn't any answer but I just looked at the pics of both.
From the inside parts it looks like you can't go wrong either way.
They both seem to be using very nice quality parts. They both went that extra buck to make a nice product.
I particularly like the D-300s use of WIMA caps on the driver boards. They are VERY nice and not cheap.
I haven't heard the AR, but I own a DR-9 and will never part with it.With my Vandy 3As, it was incredible with an iron grip on the bass and yet detailed with deep soundstage. I would agree with Tidy that it can be a bit on the dark side. A buddy of mine with great ears really liked the combo and thought it sounded like a tube amp. I bought it on the recommendation from Oakroot who was using a pair in bridged mono for his big Sound Labs speakers.
It'll drive anything you throw at it with plenty of power.

I would be willing to bet that the Classe DR-9 would be a little darker sounding.Having owned the DR-9 monos and several ARC products.
Then it is a matter of pricing, reliability and system balance. You might also check on service. Many manufacturers only support a product for 5 years.Check with both and see who is offering to re-fresh them.
