the amps are designed to sound like 300b single ended triode amps.
using extremely high (80 db) amounts of corrective feedback (yeah, they're innately horribly nonlinear) to sound like those which employ none?
Follow Ups:
Somehow, TACT supposedly didn't use any negative feedback on the output of their Millenium amplifier. I would like to hear one again someday but my memory was that it sounded acceptable perhaps as a "summer" amp.
as opposed to analog switchers?
Yes, they directly convert PCM to PWM. Don't know why this can do without negative feedback but apparently it is different enough to allow it.
they're not really amplifiers in the traditional sense. They are high powered DACs. :)
