Sam-
what other gear is in your system? Cables/power cords as well?
Follow Ups:
I'm using the 5500 to power my modded Klipsch KLF-20's with Crites titanium diaphragms in the tweeter horns, Klipsch titanium diaphragms in the mid horns, Crites custom crossovers with an added Crites bandpass for the mids. I'm using an Adcom GFA-7000 for the center and surrounds. Marantz AV-7005 prepro, Jolida cd player, Jolida JD9 phono stage,VPI Scout with AT-0C9 MKII cart, BJC cabling throughout, standard stock power cords.

If those horn tweeters are any bit bright, I would suggest you avoid the Emotiva XPA-2. The combo may end up too bright and edgy sounding.IMHO the Emotive XPA-2 works best when paired with a tubed preamp and
a speaker that has a laid back tweeter like the ribbons on my
Goldenears or say a panel type speaker. You should probably stick with another Mosfet type amp for the softer
top end like a B&K 4420 or something like that. I have one of those and
found it very similiar in sound to the Adcom 5000 series amps when it
came to the top end.I did a bit of experimenting with different amps trying to tame
metal dome tweeters in various speakers I owned over time. The
different amps I tried made subtle differences at best. Some good
and some bad.I finally realized that the preamp and speakers make the
most difference. The ribbon tweeters in my Goldenears are the
difference makers along the last 2 preamps I have owned.I guess synergy is everything. Good luck!
