the SS amp merry goround for the HT system. Warm, detailed, musical, with excellent build quality.

I had to dispose of the Rotel 1582 MK2 because of the IMO absurd input sensitivity of 2 volts, would be much better if reduced to 1 volt.
Lol, what are you driving them with , an iPhone , 2v is not absurd , any decent pre will deliver without an issue .
All other amps I have tried vary between .75 & I .25 volt input sensitivity, I use the excellent pre-out from the Sony STR-DA 5400ES (UK version) this enables me to get 5.1 mch SACD, CD, Blu-Ray DVD, FM sound & MM phono stage, I have heard nothing better irrespective of price. High end Hi-Fi IMO is a total waste of money. The Rotel amps are well built excellent value sound very good, but I can not use them.
Ahhh, Dat for a Pre, explains alot and i do agree with you , you are blessed, no Hi-end hearing means no Hi-end cash to spend..
Enjoy
Regards..
I agree, I thought around ~2-2.7 volt was the "standard".
