I'm not. I just got an Inspire amp, single ended, triode strapped hand made by Dennis Had. It can use 6V6's-KT150's by changing the rectifier, 5V3 (5U4G) or 80 (5Y3), and it sounds excellent. Other rectifiers, GZ34,GZ33,5Y3, 5R4 etc. can be used with an adapter. It's his 'retirement hobby' and he sells them on that auction site.A poster on another forum had a SLP 05 and sold it after getting an Inspire line stage at 1/5 the price. He used some of the proceeds to buy an Inspire SET 45 amp.

I had that exact same problem when I was online Cary hunting one day. I had my sights on this one but I never did find "THE DEAL" :)
.
But roger, you are a billionaire, why not bite the bullet and have them custom made?

Shameless plugs department:
Back in the day when no one in their right mind would pay anything near LIST PRICE for new Cary gear, it wasn't unheard of to get 30% or more off MSRP. That would also reflect poorly on Cary resale value, not that the equipment was bad.
Cary may have 'cleaned house' with their dealer network and they also sell direct - at MSRP of course!
The thing that gets me about Cary is that I haven't seen anything new in their Classic vacuum tube line of equipment since Dennis Had retired. The tube DACs don't count.
Without Dennis Had Cary just isn't the same. His leaving wasn't as damaging as say, Jim Thiel being basically the entire company before his demise.
Post Mr. Had, Cary the company seems all solid state and kind of lost their personality. I'm not saying their products are bad, just a different feel to things. I'm glad they have kept their classic products in the lineup.
LOL....
