Does anyone know if the Accuphase VX-700 A/V Control Center can be utilized as a high-end stereo preamplifier? I cannot see if it has XLR input, and may be internally differentially balanced in two channel? Is this now a 'has been' AV processor, or can it be used competitively with the better stereo preamplifier?
I like Accuphase products, would this model be competitive in terms of sound quality with high-end stereo gear?
Follow Ups:
I have been using an Accuphase CX 260 for the past year, this can be used as either a 2 or 6 channel preamp. I use it as two channel, and it sounds great, it is the best preamp that I ever had in my system.
The VX 700 looks very different, you may want to contact Accuphase to get a better understanding of this particular model and its usage.
Good Luck in your search.
Regards
Check the brochure. The VX-700 converts analog inputs to digital for surround processing. There is no analog bypass. So I think it would be a bad choice for a stereo preamp.
