Hello everyone, this is my first post on the forums. I recently purchased a Solid-State Thor Audio preamp at a thrift store. It has high quality components inside and is built like a tank, I researched Thor Audio and found they are known for their cylinder tube preamps but could not find any information on a Solid State Thor Audio preamp except for in an interview with the owner Paul Marks found here: http://www.tnt-audio.com/intervis/thor_e.html where he mentions the first design they made was Solid State but it wasn't released. I also emailed the current owners of Thor Audio and they responded that it definitely appeared to be Paul Marks work but they have not had contact with him in over 4 years.
This preamp sounds incredibly good but I have no information on it, I was looking on some insight on if anyone has heard/seen one of these and what it might be worth?
Attached picture is with the hood removed.

It might indeed have some value, but those big caps up front may break off if you try to ship it.
Put it on Craigslist for $400 and see if you get some bites.
I was a Thor Audio Dealer at one time, only have experience with the round chassis but Paul built incredibly good tube preamps as well as tube amps.
The prices were pretty lofty but the build quality was first rate and I loved the products.
Congrats on getting one of these since I am not sure there are many out there.
Don't know what the used market will fetch, but as others wrote you can try auction sites and see.
Worth is a tough thing to predict - especially if the component is from a small manufacturer/manufacture batch - i.e. there are 25 of these in the world...
Sounds like you picked it up for a song -
so value might be what you would spend to replace it?
if it were for sale - to what extent a knowledgeable customer with money wants it...
I have purchased a bunch of used/vintage equipment over the past few years - I feel that I have gotten a deal most of the time- a few burns and some 'over-pay' but mostly I have gotten value for my spend -
I have passed up on a lot of items that i would like to have but the opening price is too high....

Happy Listening

Congratulations on the score! Hope you'll fill us in with more details if you ever track any down.
