If they are class AB (or B for that matter) amplifiers, when you play them loudly, they will heat up. "Running hot" is generally a matter of opinion, but 25-year-old amps should get new filter capacitors.

I use Nichicon audio grade varieties for solid-state units. Seems to work fine.I also recommend cap replacement in the power supply. Overheating could be caused from inadequate filtering or dried caps.
