I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank one of the Audio Asylum members Jeff Lester (mr9iron) for the beautiful Harman Kardon Citation 1 pre-amp that he sold me. I have a Citation II power amp that I wanted to pair with the matching Pre-amp. I had actually been looking for one for about a year now when I found the totally McShaned example built by Jeff Lester. His work is impeccable and his attention to detail is second to none. Jeff's description was spot on and the heavy pre-amp was expertly packaged so that it traveled across the country totally unscathed. Additionally I spoke with Jim McShane about Jeff and was told that Jeff is a very skilled Tech. If you are ever buying anything from the Board that Jeff is selling rest assured you will be in good fair hands. Jeff even sent me a video of the unit before he shipped it out. Thanks Jeff Lester (mr9iron) and Audio Asylum for helping me find the pre-amp I had been searching for quite a long time.

Mike, thanks for the kind words, I am glad you finally got the pairing you were looking for. The McShane II and the McShane I are a phenomenal set. One of the best core systems ever built. That set up is a ground pounder. I had been doing this awhile, searching experimenting, building, rebuilding. I no longer look for anything or show much interest in other set ups after getting my combo all restored. This hobby is of course incredibly subjective, but that set up is hard to beat all around.

Yes the Citation II has been completely updated with all of Jims kits including the two boards.
That must be a joy just to look at much listen to, excellent!

Both the Citation pre-amp and the amp really are beautiful pieces to feast your eyes on. I hope as I buy other pieces from the forum they are as great to deal with as Jeff Lester was.
