OK, but 120W is still double I have used. Ether you have quite a large space or you play very loud bass heavy music (in which case you have chosen wrong speakers), or there is a problem with the amp/tubes.
In any case, watch your ears if that is how you usually listen.

Point well taken. I think I may have given some misconceptions when I described the distortion. I am not listening at unusually loud levels. I think the problem I originally described was when I was playing a track from Alphonso Johnson "Spellbound" LP that had a lot of deep bass with heavy attack. It may have even been my cartridge mistracking but I think that I just had it a tad too lound for that track and the 8" woofer in the LFT8b. But I don't remember hearing any breakup a few months back when I played the same LP through my Moscode 600. I am going to do some more investigating when the KT120's come and maybe even a side by side inserting the Moscode back in.

With these speakers I would take Quicksilver-s any time over the Moscode. Occasional track that contains extra deep and loud bass that tube amp may have issue with, is well worth fluidity and naturalness that good tube gear brings. Of course, your taste may be different and only you can say what you like more.
But I strongly suggest that you replace ALL the tubes and listen the amp for at least a month before comparing to Moscode.
Last thought: You did not mention the preamp. Can some incompatibility be the cause of the reduced bass quality ?

The KT120's arrived Saturday. When I inserted them (Quicksilver V4's) in place of the JJ KT88's I was alarmed when the bias check read near 100ma on every KT120! Kevin Deal had mentioned this on his website. He says to lower the bias on the old tubes because over the course of their life the bias has been raised and will be too much for the new tubes. I caught this only after 10 minutes so I don't think any harm was done. I then biased the KT120 to 40ma.
So far the sound is excellent but need much more time for break in and evaluation. Initial impressions are deep soundstage, good bass control, and more of everything as most have observed on the KT120's.
I think you are right about the fluidity and overall refinement of the sound over the Moscode. It seems to sound more detailed with out being bright or forward.
