I can verify both the ET-3 vs. ET-e SE models and the ACT2 vs ACT2 Series2.
All examples are pre-amps and original models compared to the "upgraded" models. Clearly, the teflon caps and other upgraded parts are pure listening bliss. Someday, I hope to hear the ART-3 model.

You HAVE to change the output capacitors. I used the DynamiCaps. You'll need two 4uF and two 0.1uF caps. This totally opened up the sound, extended highs, sweet midrange and added a hell of a whomp in the bass. It made the stock caps sound cold and hard.
Its a must do. CJ wants $1400 for their Teflon capacitor upgraded. I spent less than $80.
Thank you for your reply. Are you suggesting that there is a similarity in the difference in sound in both upgrades? If so, how would you characterize it? Do you think this difference is transportable across different models/tubes?
Thanks!

you can also consult Bill Thalman.
Yes, both upgraded models were clearly better for all-around performance.
I know that there are guys who tube-roll for the models that do not have a "teflon" upgrade, if you will. Check out the forums over at Audiogon for tube-rolling advice.
