If you have Anaconda thick speaker cables...5/16" can handle more torque...
Pass amps are built like tanks...either size will work...I am a guy that likes bigger diameters when it comes to ANY type of fasteners...
"Most" premium brand speaker cables, come with 5/16" spades as the typical and 1/4" spades can be a special order...
Now, don't ask me why, but the typical binding posts on the speakers are 1/4"...go figure...
Congrats on the new amp...
thanks

To the contrary, going oversize on spade lugs allows the lug to spread when tightened. Less contact under the screw. If your going to oversize use ring lugs. They do not spread and the added benefit of more surface area under the screw with a better gas tight connection.
Many thanks, appreciated! That helps me to configure a Kimber Bifocal speaker cable between the (new) amp and my Apogee Duetta speakers (which are currently getting restored). On the speaker side I will use banana plugs.
Urs...
I do the same, spades on the amp end and bananas on the speaker end...I own Maggies, that only take bananas on the speaker end...(really cheap binding posts on ALL Maggies)...
Once you get your amp, if you would please, let us know how it handles the Duettes'...not the easiest speaker to drive, so IMHO the Pass is a great choice...
Your Kimbers' are beefy cables...
thanks
Mark
