Have a hum in my Jolida. It's there regardless if input, it's there on power on. Volume of hum does not change with a change in the volume control. Thoughts??
Follow Ups:
I had this problem.
I spent several years trying to cure it, to no avail. Then the good inmates on this site suggested that a might have a problem with ground loop hum.
Furthermore, they suggested that a problem with the ground of the cable tv feed coming into my room might be the culprit. So, I disconnected the cable feed (from any equipment plugged into a power outlet) and sure enough, the ground loop hum vanished.
Have you had the amp for a while without the hum problem, IOW, did the hum just suddenly start?
Did you make any changes to the amp like different tubes? How old are the tubes in there now?
Any other system changes?
Is the hum out of one or both speakers?
Is it a mechanical hum of the amp itself or is the hum audible through the speakers?
Through the speakers...
If you disconnect everything (all inputs) except the speakers, do you still have a hum?
