A tube amp from Japan. The interview.

I imported Mactone for many years into the US and the MA-300B amp was a huge success, it's sonics was so close to many other hi-end companies at a fraction of the price. However EVERY pre-amp, and phonostage had reliability problems, the wiring was like a 5 year old made it. In fact every piece I had to send out to be completetly rewired just to work. We kept asking for the workmanship to improve but since they were sent out to a third party nothing improved and we finally gave up on the brand. I can only hope that after many years the reliability and workmanship has improved, if so it would be a brand to reach out and have a listen.
Thanks! for sharing.
Indeed makers of Fine Amplifiers--I'm frequently awed by the sonics my Amp puts out--maybe down to the fact they produce their own iron.
I AB'ed in my own system with the existing Shindo I used (great amps also!) and the Mactone
I felt portrayed more of the aspects I prefer in a playback environment.
With no current US supply it is a shame Audiophiles there do not have the opportunity to savor this
fine marque.
Highly recommended
