I'm not familiar with your speakers but my Rogue Cronus Magnum with KT-120 tubes easily drove my less than efficient Thiel CS2.4 speakers in a good sized dedicated listening room. Since our recent move to downsize, my current setup is in my smallish 10 x 12 home office with tall ceilings, presently using a pair of Tannoy Definition D500 speakers.
For sonic quality I usually find myself going back to the Rogue. It competes well even against some larger much more expensive amps that I've owned.
The Sony TA-A1ES sounds nice too but the Rogue is a bit more robust and 'meaty' in the lower mids. I use the Sony a lot while I work in the office. I use the Rogue when I'm in the mood to enjoy a sit down and pay attention listening session. Oh, and I listen mostly to rock.
Both amps can be found used in your price range of about $1500 +/-.
Mac Mini > PS Audio NuWave DAC > Rogue or Sony Amp > Tannoy Speakers. iPad controller. CD quality AIFF files or 'hi-res' 24/96 and 24/192 music files.

Beautiful pics!
Abe, did you sell your Thiel speakers?
The Thiel CS2.4 are stored down in the unfinished basement. I may sell them someday or finish the basement. Not sure yet. ;-)
Wow! I had not noticed that you switched out speakers?
What was the deciding factor to go w/ Tannoy? PLease post some thoughts / impressions comparing them to the CS 2.4 -
If I'm not mistaken I notice a door stop on the left, indicating that your room's door must be just out of the field of view on the left. The use of a wide angle lens does make the room look deeper.
I like wise have a small 10x12x9H room, but it's not mine alone and has 2 prairie rockers and a few other rustic pieces so a stereo has always played 2nd fiddle. Our townhome's living room has the tv and small system, which is pretty much our (wife's) viewing room. I'm not sure I'll ever have a dedicated room, but your room looks mighty fine indeed. Thanks for posting pix.
Yes, the left 'wall' is consumed mostly by French doors that open inward. I have a small desk and file cabinet against the rear wall. My desk chair is also used as my listening chair. It's a bit tight in here!
I have space down in the basement but it's unfinished, cluttered and not very inviting. It's mainly unorganized storage right now. I'll have to work on that someday.
Abe - I absolutely love the look of your setup. That set of gear looks Fantastic together. Nice job!
