They aren't yet warmed up, but already there is a coherence and immediacy that takes the presentation more towards a live presentation.
Wow!

Oops! My bad:The "tryout" is based upon a complete Crimson chain of electronics:
1. 710 Preamp
2. 2x 640E III monoblocksand Crimson speaker cables and Crimson RCA cables.
I am driving my beloved Thiel CS3.7's
My sources are my own:
Ayre C-5xeMP CD/SACD/DVD-A player
Berkeley Audio Alpha DAC-2 being fed by SOnos and Squeezebox Touch
Plinius Koru Phono Amp, SOTA Sapphire turntable, Jelco 750E arm, Ortofon Rondo Bronze MCIt's warming up ... the transparency and immediacy is apparent, as well as detail. I'll let it continue to warm up since it is getting better as the thing warms. People have said that Crimson is dead neutral and transparent. I sort of "get" what they are talking about.

They sound good on a variety of speakers. I have heard the amp-preamp combination on 2 pairs of JMR speakers and 2 pairs of Tocaro speakers. Both mfrs produce exceptional speakers, but they are voiced rather differently. The Tocaros are very "realistic" while JMRs tend to be a bit more involving But certainly not "dreamy"). I also see your speakers, as "involving", somewhat more than the JMRs.
If what i say is more generally true, then it's comforting to know that the positive qualities of the Crimson gear you noted are at least fairly (if not very) robust to the way excellent speakers are voiced.
My only experience is based on a small sample.
Observe, before you think. Think before you open your yap. Act on the basis of experience.
It doesn't surprise me - the electronics seem so transparent, that it's likely to be a great setup for a variety of speakers. I was surprised that it did so well with the Thiels!

Which Crimson product(s) are you trying out? I wasn't aware of them until your post.
