He may very well be right about his own design. But the Accuphase AC-2 likes a very low 47ohm (not K ohm)resister setting, and there is room to add the resisters to this setting, so I would like to try it and see for myself how it compares.

Understand. I'd probably want to do the same thing. I owned an SA3000 for nearly 20 years. I ultimately had Mike kill the MC Jfets from the phono section and I used an SUT into the MM inputs for my 0.5mv MC. It had plenty of gain that way and was super quiet. Anyway, the 3k had a set of toggle switches and spots on the board for inserting resistors. As I recall, the 1k had jumpers as you described, but it's been so long ago I can't remember how to set them. A friend used to be a Counterpoint dealer. I'll ask him and see if he can remember. In the meantime, maybe somebody will jump in with the answer.
