'design but not direct input'.
Is quite a hair to split. I'll just have to content myself with owning the pair of '23s.
Nobody says 'Made with the designers input'. but rather 'it is an XXX design'….which would apparently be true.
Once again, the direction I went was ….no IS, very good sounding and one very fine path forward which will pay off when I go PLLXO and dump the speaker level crossover!
Too much is never enough
I don't argue or comment. To be honest I don't even care. His words in my view were appropriate in this thread (23 vs 21). Otherwise, whatever makes you happy.
You've got a point.
This is a WACKY (alleged) 'hobby'.
After all, how many GM buyers of the 1950s went in to a dealership and asked 'Is this a Harley Earl Design?' Or into a Porsche Dealer with 'Did Ferdinand sign off on this?'
Not many, I'll bet.
Yet, in the Hi-Fi realm, there are many 'legends' and it would appear that just the NAME appearing on the front panel adds 50% (you fill in favorite #) to the final price. When's the LAST time that JBL, or KLH (a group, yes?) or Klipsch or even BOSE, for that matter, had any input to the product that bears their name.
The final test IS and always SHOULD be 'How does it sound?' To that end, in my application, I'll 'stack up' my PAIR of '23s to a single '21 ANY day of the week.
I'm apparently as guilty as the next one:
Too much is never enough
