Does the existence of HDMI or digital inputs preclude manufacturers from providing tape in/outs? I was researching a new receiver with HDMI ins and found none with tape in/outs. I need the outs to feed radio to my primary system. Need ins to feed primary system sources to outdoor and family room speakers via the receiver/int amp. Hope this makes sense.
Follow Ups:
Look instead for any analog inputs and for analog line (preamp) outputs. Some may be labeled as Zone outputs which gives you some independent of them.
Quite common but not on the least expensive ones.
Thanks Kal, as you suggest, any input will do on the receiver (duh, not sure what I was thinking). Re the pre-outs, I've never used any and may misunderstand their operation. Are the pre-outs live all the time or do i have to "select" it and hence lose the output to the receiver speakers?
Preamp outputs are generally live all the time. If the outputs are designated as Zone outputs, they can usually be turned on/of independent of the main AVR outputs.
