Funny I found this as I too am considering purchase of a Goldpoint as it was a popular upgrade many years back on the 270. Could you tell me the resistor values you're using and what make? Thanks
Follow Ups:
The original pot was 47kohms input impedance. I researched opinions and found Dact and Goldpoint to be the most highly rated stepped attenuators. Several people had compared them head to head and found little to no difference between them. I settled on a Dact stereo 50kohm attenuator. One criticism of stepped atenuators is that the steps may not be placed at the volume levels convenient to your particular system and listening levels(step loudness increases too much between steps). I have had no such problems. The improvement in sound is comparable to a major component upgrade/change. Best bang-for-the-buck upgrade I've made by far
Thanks for your response.
