the NR 1604 ? Supports streaming , works with your iPhone, decent power, 4K upscaling (if you're into video, and you get all those surround channels to boot.
Don't need 7 channels, buy the lower model 1504 for $500 instead of $650 for the 1604.
Sound is actually very decent for AV receivers, IMHO, although my tube gear beats it handily, of course...

Will NAD D3020 come close to your tubes? Or perhaps Rega Brio?

approaches my tube gear, well, except maybe other tube stuff
is
a bit lightweight in sound.
Reviews were good.
I think I want more beef.
Also considering the Sony Hap S1, 40 watt Integrated/File Player.
Since I'll have a powered Sub, probably any of them would be good for me.
I own the older Marantz PM 8003 2-ch integrated and it sounds robust and very nice.
I'm doubt that a Marantz 7.1-channel AV processor/receiver at half the price is going better their basic 2-ch integrated amps.
Hey Abe,
I recently restored my old Luxman L210 integrated.
Put in place of a Motorola (5.1) DCP501 AVR, for bedroom duty.
The Moto now resides in the surplus closet.
I can live w/o the remote as the performance is that much better.
Cheers,

Thanks. I'll most probably stay 2 ch.

Sound isn't all that bad and you get HDMI switching and the built in DA conversion. For TV use, it has few peers, and has the typical Marantz tonality and sound.
