Poor guy will hopefully learn not to go there anymore.
Like Cheech Marin's character in "Desperado" said - "Don't they know not to come here?", after reassuring a customer that they do, indeed, pee in the beer they serve. And not only that...
Yeah... Any half-way decent amplifier is going to have ruler-flat frequency response (with the tone controls set to "flat").
As a general rule, all good amplifiers sound alike* (except for power differences). On the other hand, all speakers sound different.
That amp has tone/EQ controls, right? Turn up the bass! If that doesn't cut it, think about upgrading your speakers, not your amp.

Maybe so, but I am rather suspicious of his plan. I would look first at the room acoustics or the speakers, which have the largest role in bass response.
Even though some amps can have better bass control and oomph than others, it seems like a very expensive road to tears to start swapping amps around on a search for bass unless you are 100% certain the amp is problem.
I will add that the Alto Utopias dip to around 3-ohm in the upper bass. That might cause some bass trouble is if his amp is not comfortable delivering power at that low an impedance.
Despite it being an "8-ohm" speaker, I'd look for an amp with rated power down to 2-ohms.
I don't have a Hydrogen account. Could anybody that does help the poor guy out and tell him about the low impedance of his "8-ohm" speakers and the benefit of matching his amp appropriately to the load?

Obviously none of us own good equipment.
All food tastes the same (if you have a zinc deficiency), all women kiss the same (if you're a eunuch), VHS and Beta look the same (to Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder), and all amplifiers sound the same (to the deaf old men at Stereo Review).
