In Reply to: RE: Behringer europower 1500 driving Vandy's Ce? posted by Eldragon@gmx.com on July 21, 2012 at 10:42:37
I have no experience with the Europower or the speakers. However, I have ended up with a pair of Behringer iNuke NU3000 (only one in use however). I didn't like the noisy fan. So I removed it! (also: added heat spreaders to heat sinks, leave top off for convection cooling.) Of course, it doesn't meet its original specs but (lacking any test equipment) it will drive a pair (or four) Bose 901 loud enough to annoy the neighbors. These are the only speakers I've tried it with. I say get the good speakers (the old rule of thumb: the speakers should be the biggest investment) and try the Behringer. The audiophile "gods" will not be pleased, but it's your own ears that matter, not the opinion of the snobs.
Follow Ups:
I could not find a "1500" listed. there are several Europower models. I think the iNuke are a newer series.
Attached is a link to a tutorial (Word doc) that I did for my fanless mod.
Call me cheap (I am), I like the Behringer so much that I have sold all my old (slightly better but still not having "audiophile" pedigree) amps: a couple Carver M400t, a Sunfire 300x2.

I found it last night. I know Behringer makes, or until recently, several amplifier classes (AB, D, and ?). I do like my "fanless" NU3000. I think it is amazing that so much power can come out of a unit that has no transformers (at least not the huge ones of older designs). I will be interested to learn of what you finally select in amp and speakers. Thank you.
