I owned a pair of 150 Ms some 5 years ago. I tried everything to help them with the leading edge of the music.- cryoed tubes, balanced cables from a balanced amp/pre/cd player; Stillpoints/Risers on Harmonic Resonance platforms. Alas, no matter what I tried, they were slow off the line. Before I sold them I bought a PS Audio GCA 250 with Stage 2 mod. My die-hard tub-o-holic friends agreed the PS sounded better. Later replaced it with W4S mono-blocks and now their MC 250/500 driving my Maggies 3.5Rs. The only tubes now are the output of my Raysonic 228 and 168 before upgrading to it. IMHO, this is where tubes should be (at the source).
I can't imagine Rogue being their equal, - unless your new Focals really need a lot of current, - if then, - no Rogue, but a combo of tubed pre and SS power perhaps?
What is the problem that you think that the Rogue's might solve that the VTL can't?; would be my question.
And, - if it's that the speakers sound thin right now; then I'd say that you haven't given them their 3 months of required break-in time.
My opinion is that the VTL is a very good, and neutral amp(s). IF you want to color it with syrupy warmth, (assuming that your new speakers are thoroughly broken-in), then that's another matter.

No no no, not going to replace the VTLs, I like them too much and despite the comments in Stereophile regarding the Focals and tube amps, am very happy with the combination.I should have been clearer, I am putting together a second system, of decent quality for a cabin where my family spends an awful lot of time in the summer/holiday seasons.
I am actually considering the Focal 1027Be's, the rogue MB150-180 amps, and a VTL TL5.5 pre, with a mac mini and a DAC as the entire system. The budget for this system is about 12-15K
