I keep putting off buying a new system...I got to do it now...
I want a Jolida 100 watt tube or hybrid and a good cd player..
I thought of the Jolida tube cd player but any good player under 1000$ will do. Where is the cheapest and beat place to buy the amp online?
and other suggestions please..
I've had this amp for years and years and it's been very enjoyable.
It has the classical attributes you want in a big push-pull tube design: big spacious sound image, has the omph for large orchestral works, and has very appealing tonal production. Jazz and tubes are just made for each other.
This kind of amp is not the ultimate in clarity -- compared with some SS designs or with SET. Of course. I get a little bit of hum with mine; I don't know if that's because it's had a hard life, but in any case I don't hear it at my listening seat with normal speakers (e.g. not horns etc.). Of course, this thing has a lot of tubes so it does warm up the room a bit. Great in Winter! Not so great in Summer!
What speakers are you planning to use? Small room? Big room?
The best thing to do is read reviews. Assuming that you are looking at 100W per channel, the all tube amp offered by Jolida(1000A, 1000RC) and the 1501RC are very different animals(very different prices as well). I've actually owned the 1501RC. If you are looking for a tube sound, look elsewhere. It was a fairly solid amp, but not real high in the musicality department. I've heard good things about the 1000a/rc, but it takes 8xEL34/C6a7's so be prepared to spend a few hundred dollars every couple years.
I think i want a hybrid... if I want clear dynamic sound, what would you recommend for 1000 or less..??? all tube might be a bit soft for me...
do you like the Jolida cd player.... or should I look at Japanese stuff...
