I am currently running a Mcintosh C2200 preamplifier (now discontinued)and have recently been afforded the opportunity to upgrade to the current model in Mcintosh's line-up, the C2300. Not being in a position to audition the C2300 beforehand I'd be very grateful for input as to whether this would be a worthwhile change. Please note I'm only interested in the C2300's performance as a preamp as I'll be using a stand-alone phono stage.
I traded my C2200 for the C2300 under the McIntosh Trade-up plan and I am glad I did. I found the C2300 sound to be much cleaner. You also get a newer unit for a reasonable price. What is not to like about that deal? Dave
