But why does the same dealer want you to combine ARC/C-J? Btw: I tried my Triangle Cometes with an Premier 11A (and either EAR 864 or NLE 11/19)linestage + Meridian cdp)= wow! If you could get an 11A instead of MV60(SE), I think that would be an even better match.
He carries both lines. Dealers recommend stuff all the time, I'm just trying to assess his recommendation.
I have a premier 11a. I have had the amp for 8 years. I think it is one of the best tube amps period. It does everything well. I ocassionally see them on Audiogon for sale. Keep looking there. I use a Covernagent Audio Tech Signature Mk 11 and they mate very well, I used a cj pv10a prior. The Cat has a much different soun not as warm but muckh better. Hope this helps.
Well, I got very good results with the 11A and NLE solid state-combo, so a mix'n match approach can be a hit. I've heard both 11A and MV60SE (with KT88), and it seems like the 11A has got a sweeter and more soulful sound. The MV60SE's more neutral and perhaps also bit better i the dynamics appartment. More hard-hitting.
