I was wondering, if the CCS where to be connected from B+ to the screens of a pentode and from the screens there where a large enough resistor to create the required voltage drop, taking into account screen draw as well. How well would the screen voltage and current be regulated? Would this be a desirable opeating condition for the pentode?

The connection you describe will certainly work, but will only stabilize current, not voltage. Normal pentode operation calls for a stable voltage at the screen grid. It might be interesting to hear the difference as an experiment, though. :=))
