I built an EL84 version of this amp using a single ECC99 driving an LL1660S SE to PP. I've had good sonic results. I did use a fair amount of bypass to the get the gain where it needs to be with a gain of 22 for the ECC99. This tube reminds me of a Black Plate 5687 only with more gain. very sweet. I've been inspired by some of Andre's projects. I designed this job dual mono, choke input power supply and no electrolytics. It's a great sounding amp.

I think it's a safe design to play around with.
