Bas,I use the DACT 10K with a pair of Lundahl 1676 wired in 1:1 input transformers in my linestage if you recall. It's a nice alternative to the S&B TVC with either Shallco or state of the art Seiden switches. Cost difference too (rough estimate below):
DACT 10K stereo attenuator ~$150
Pair Lundahl 1676 $180
Total: $330.S&B TVC $550
Shallco switch or Seiden switch ~ $100-$150
Total: $650-$750.But I bet there's a performance difference though! Haven't compared them but I listed it here for everyone to try. The first method does include the galvanic isolation that transformers provide, but also has the benefits of amorphous core. The second method is more expensive but I believe to be state of the art, but man is it pricey!!!
Follow Ups:
I might give it a try. Thanks

Ok, here is what you do:A) Download the Lundahl 1676 PDF file and read it, its on Lundahl's website.
B) Remember to look at the 1676 from the COMPONENT side and **not** the PIN side. In other words, it is mapped out as if you are looking at the transformer from the top, using x-ray vision to see the pins underneath. Mark the pin numbers with a pencil so you don't goof!
C) For wiring it 1:1 do this:
1. Connect pin 6 to pin 10
2. Connect pin 7 to pin 9
3. Designate pin 6 as your input and connect this to your RCA jack IN.
4. Connect pin 10 to ground and also connect to the ground tab of your RCA jack.
5. Connect pin 1 to pin 4.
6. Connect pin 2 to the IN part of your attenuator.
7. Connect pin 5 to ground.
