LAST CALL: the Auction winds down today!
Posted by Bill Leebens on February 28, 2005 at 03:46:43:
Hi, all!
Today is the day when the Audio Asylum Asian Tsunami Victim Support Auction comes to a halt--mostly.
We say "mostly" because a few auctions will run another day or so, in order to insure proper exposure. And "mostly", as the bidding may stop, but there'll still be notification, settlement and collection issues to deal with--possibly for weks to come.
Inmates have been very active in their participation, and for that, we thank you. You can still help: please take a minute to review the auctions that are still running, and if there's ANYTHING of interest to you, PLEASE bid, and bid high. 'Cause these things'll be shutting down VERY soon.
You can further help, once you bid: please respond promptly to make payment and shipping arrangements, once you've been notified that you've won. Once you've made those arrangements, please follow through with the payment as soon as possible.
We will post a review of the auction's returns, once all notifications have been sent, and collections made.
Thanks again to all of you, but especially to Rod Morris and Stephaen Harrell of the Asylum. Without them, this wouldn't have happened. Period. Thanks for the opportunity to do this, guys.
Audiogon was an essential partner in this enterprise, and without the constant assistance of Arnie Chinta and Steve Clay of the 'gon, this party never would've started. Thanks to you two.
It's been hectic, but it's been fun. Thanks to all of you for your concern for those affected by the Tsunami, and thanks for caring enough to give!
Ole Lund Christensen and Bill Leebens, organizers.
